2,675 businessmen face action for cheating customers

BIRATNAGAR: The Biratnagar-based Regional Office of Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology has taken action against 2,675 businessmen of the eastern region for cheating customers in the fiscal year 2016/17.

According to Manish Das, the Office chief, the action was taken against the businessmen after they were found cheating customers in weight and measure, while monitoring their weighing machines.

The office also collected Rs 11.017 million as revenue from the license as well as fine taking action against businessmen. The Office had also provided license to 2,076 people to run their business during the period.

Some 7,345 businessmen of the eastern region had their weighing machines tested in the last fiscal year.
